Description

The social and structural determinants of health (SDOH) are the biggest drivers of health where people live, work, and play, and they have significant impacts on problem gambling. This virtual training will explore strategies for identifying and prioritizing SDOH issues, collecting and using data to inform health equity plans, and engaging authentically with community partners to facilitate change.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training participants will be able to:

  • Analyze key issues to reduce health disparities driven by the social and structural determinants of health in relation to problem gambling.
  • Apply the social and structural determinants of health framework and the Social Ecological Model to guide problem gambling prevention across individual, relationship, community, and societal levels.
  • Leverage data to inform and prioritize key community issues for a practical action plan to affect change.
  • Apply strategies for cultivating authentic, sustainable community partnerships that drive systemic change.
