Through our Health Equity Academy, MCOE PGP offers a series of trainings in three tracks described below. These trainings offer CEUs for that can be applied for professional certifications. We also offer regular special event webinars around addressing specific topics related to problem gambling prevention or engaging a particular population in prevention efforts. Gambling has been expanded in Massachusetts in recent years, and many communities are unaware of the potential harms associated with problem gambling, the populations that are disproportionally affected, and the innovative prevention strategies we can use to address this important issue. This academy will increase the capacity of individuals and organizations to understand and operationalize health equity and address problem gambling through a series of interactive trainings in three tracks:
Take any training in the series as a stand alone or take the entire series to build your capacity in a particular content area and help meet certified prevention specialist training requirements for gambling prevention and cultural and linguistic competence. These trainings are free and contact hour certificates that can be applied for professional certifications. We take a roll up your sleeves approach to personal and professional growth that infuses intentional and strategic energy into your work and centers health equity throughout.
